The Assisted House

We present an application in a residential context, where ekinex products have been integrated, and equipment and finishes have been chosen with special features, giving priority to the functionality needed by a disabled user. It is known that one of the possibilities that the domotic field gives, is to build facilities to help disabled people who, for example, no longer have the total control of their bodies. In these cases it is necessary that the structures with which the user comes into contact must be able to interact in order to allow a good degree of autonomy for the user, customising environments and systems according to the needs requested.

Ekinex has been chosen for its wall and panel products for the following reasons:

  • The EK-EB2-TP push buttons, on which strength tests have been carried out, has been selected because their configuration with large rockers makes them easy to press and use; the side LEDs used as night courtesy light have also been considered useful.

  • The EK-E72-TP-R thermostats which, in addition to the regulation of heating and cooling in the individual zones, are easily visible for their back-lighting and the size of the numeric characters.

  • The actuators EK- FF1-TP and EK-FE1-TP control the various automations (elevator, door/window opening)

The ekinex system has also been integrated with a supervision and control system designed and built in such a way that the user with disabilities can interface to any system from a fixed location via web interface on a PC or from a tablet connected directly to the electric wheelchair. The system has been installed and programmed by our partner NEXTWORKS of Pisa;

This application won the candidacy and the subsequent prize as Best Project - Social Category during the KNX Day of the 10th November 2017, organized by the association KNX Italia.
