Knx domotic solutions on the hills of Siena

This project regarded the renovation of a small suite/apartment, located within a homestead on the Senesi’s hills, overlooking San Gimignano; the interesting factor is that even though initially the client was sceptical towards the use of a domotic system, he than understood its potential and decided to renovate another area of the apartment, which would have become the new recording studio.

The Ekinex products have been chosen not only for their technical functions but also based on their appealing design, which makes them a real addition to the general house assets in terms of design. The client has greatly appreciated the Touch&See Display, which functions as a central control panel of a small area, for its great functionalities and its simple but beautiful design

Inside the apartment have been realised the following home automation functions:

  • Lighting management and control
  • Control and management of radiant’ s panel based heating system
  • Control and management of one UTA
  • Control and management of electric curtains
  • Control and management of priority electrical load
  • Security control and management: anti flood system

The final user has the possibility to manage and control the apartment directly from smartphones, tablets and PC. Following the renovation of the apartment, the works on the new area required a different level of implementation, especially concerning the dimmerable lighting and RGB.

Inside the recording studio have been realised the following automation functions:

  • Control and management of dimmerable lighting and RGB
  • Heating and AC control and management
  • Control and management of electric curtains
  • Control and management of priority electrical load

The automation remote control system of the studio has been integrated with the pre-existent one of the apartment, in order to enable the end client to remotely manage and control, both areas, with a single supervisor.

Besides the comfort, design and functionalities, one of the aspects the end client appreciated the most, is that this type of domotic system allows the user to remotely manage and control their own apartment which, as in this case, for whom is often outside, will result in a much greater energy efficiency.
