Villa in the historic centre

The following is a new residential application by Ekinex: an apartment located in the historic center of a town near Novara where the customer chose to use some advanced solutions for comfort and energy saving. The selected and installed products integrate lighting, blind, temperature control and scene management.

Field commands

Thanks to the FF Series EK-ED2-TP pushbuttons, we were able to control all the lighting devices in the apartment as well as the blind servomotors. It was also possible to recall and store the favorite and user-defined scenes. Moreover, thanks to configurable LEDs already fitted inside the pushbutton, it is possible to monitor the status of the lighting bulb. In the corridor and in the hallways, LEDs for night orientation were used. Thanks to the high profile aesthetic finishes of the materials, everything was a pleasant sight. The EK-ED2-TP pushbutton, in this application, also acts as a thermostat to control the room temperature and manage the floor radiant heating plant. There are 8 zones, managed by 2 Ekinex Touch& See (EK-EC2-TP) devices. Heating is managed separately: it turns on only when and where needed.

Actuators installed in the cabinet

In order to achieve lighting and blind control, the EK-FF1-TP product was selected. It is a KNX device equipped with 16-channel binary outputs for single output devices or 8-channel outputs for actuators or servos for blinds. The device is equipped with a membrane keyboard for manual commands and LEDs for status indication of connected loads, thus guaranteeing a simple and effective plant maintenance. In order to control the zone temperatures, the EK-HE1-TP product was selected. It is a KNX device with actuator function (in combination with a KNX room thermostat), 8 TRIAC output channels for on/off command of valve electrothermal actuators. It was developed to be used in heating and/or cooling plants with 2 or 4 pipes distribution systems and it is equipped with a membrane keyboard for manual commands and LEDs for status and alarm indication.

A totally integrated plant

In this application, thanks to the Ekinex products, it was possible to design, develop and install a totally integrated plant, using both wall mounting and panel mounting products and blending technical and aesthetic features.
